Primary treatment is the first critical step in wastewater management, designed to remove materials that float or settle by gravity. Traditionally, this process relies on large sedimentation basins, achieving about 40–60% Total Suspended Solids (TSS) removal and 25–40% BOD₅ reduction.
At Awatech, with our partner Aqua-Aerobic, we go beyond conventional methods with Advanced Primary Treatment. Using specially engineered Cloth Media Filters, our solution delivers superior performance—removing over 80% TSS and up to 50% total BOD. This advanced process incorporates three zones of solids removal:
- Floatable removal
- Settled solids separation
- Fine filtration
